MOUNTING

Pochron Studios’ archival materials and precise practice ensures a beautiful finished product before framing. Our printing and mounting are done in the same location, requiring one less step for the artist. Once mounted, we can handle delivery to the artist’s framer, gallery, or studio.

Pochron Studios uses a Drytac Jetmounter to cold mount an artist’s C-prints or inkjet pigment prints to a substrate with pressure-sensitive, archival adhesive. This process requires no heat and allows us to mount on a variety of substrates, such as Dibond, Sintra, aluminum, museum board, and Plexiglas. All of these materials come with their own look and benefits, we can help you determine what suits your project. Depending on the chosen substrate, Pochron can mount fine art prints up to 60 inches.

Other substrates and services (such as facemounting) are available upon request.

For most artists, mounting is the stage just prior to framing a fine art print. In order for a print to sit flat and straight in the frame, it first needs to be adhered to a flat, rigid substrate. However, it is not always necessary to frame a mounted print. Many artists will choose to skip the frame and “float” the print on the wall, in this case we can add a brace and cleat.

Occasionally an artist will request additional services to a mounted print. Custom details like complex shapes, beveled edges, and lamination are available. No idea is too ambitious; talk to us about your project’s ideal finished form.
